In Victoria, licensing is carried out by Victorian Building Authority and the required Qualifications are carried out by National Skills Pty Ltd

Business Management Course

BSBSMB401 - ESTABLISH LEGAL AND RISK MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS OF SMALL BUSINESS

This course meets the “Business Managerial Course” requirements to help trade contractors. 
Successful completion of the Business Managerial Course helps the participant meet the Business and Building knowledge requirements to be licensed.
 

DOMESTIC BUILDING (UNLIMITED)

Persons registered in the class of Domestic Builder (Unlimited) are responsible for carrying out, or managing or arranging the carrying out of all components of domestic building work for the construction, renovation, improvement or maintenance of a home (class 1, 2 and 4 buildings, and associated class 10 buildings, as classified in the Building Code of Australia)

PROJECT MANAGER (DOMESTIC)

Persons registered in the class of Project Manager (Domestic), are responsible for the managing or arranging the carrying out of domestic building work by persons registered as a Domestic Builder (Unlimited) or a relevant limited class of domestic builder. They cannot carry out the work themselves and they cannot engage an unregistered builder to carry out the building work.
Persons registered in a limited class of domestic builder are responsible for carrying out, or managing or arranging the carrying out of the limited classes set out in their certificate of registration. A person registered in a limited domestic builder class may be limited to carrying out, or managing or arranging the carrying out of the following limited classes of domestic building work.

The work permitted on these buildings includes structural and non-structural fit-out work and structural landscaping.

BUILDER LIMITED TO MEDUIM RISE

Commercial Builder (Limited to the construction of medium rise building work)

This limited class of building work is limited to the construction of commercial buildings and structures:

• up to 25 metres in height, 

• bulk excavations up to a depth of 8 metres.

The work permitted includes structural and non- structural fit out work for buildings up to 25 metres in height, and structural landscaping associated with those buildings

COMMERCIAL BUILDER UNLIMITED 

Commercial Builder (Unlimited) Persons registered in the class of Commercial Builder (Unlimited) are responsible for managing or arranging the carrying out of all components of building work for the construction of commercial buildings and structures of unlimited height and floorsize, when a building permit is required. The work permitted includes structural and non-structural fit-out and structural landscaping
