RPL is a Fast Track process that can be completed in a short time frame. It's based on skills, knowledge and evidence you have accquired over the years to meet the requirements for the qualification. Maximum 24 months enrolment period to complete.
This Nationally Recognised qualification provides an outcome for persons seeking recognition as a qualified designer overing advise and services in residential and commercial applications.
To gain entry into the MSF50218 Diploma of Interior Design, it is recommended that you have:
RPL - Must be older than 18 years of age to enrol. A student younger would find it hard to have gained the level of knowledge and skills gained through life, work and study, that is required to meet the criteria of RPL.
This qualification provides you with the required skills to become a carpenter covering work in commercial and residential building projects.
RPL pathway. Gap training is provided if applicable (please refer to the fees section for applicable fees)
RPL pathway, gap training will be conducted via distance and through workplace training. The learning component of the qualification is customised to suit the individual client needs. Accelerated learning is open to all participants providing that they are able to demonstrate competency in all units required to gain the qualification.
Upon enrolment, the student will be provided with an RPL Evidence Application to complete in their own time, which will enable them to provide evidence of their experience. Once the RPL Evidence Application has been completed and submitted to the Registered Training Organisation (RTO), then an assessor will check your file and contact you to arrange an interview.
Evidence for RPL may include:
During your interview this will allow the student to explain the evidence provided, and allow the assessor to question the candidate on their knowledge skill and experience. The assessor may also conduct site visits to confirm the candidate’s level of knowledge and skill. If gaps in knowledge, skill or experience are identified, further training can be provided for the candidate to obtain the qualification. The duration of this training is dependent on the individual candidate’s prior and current work experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning assessments are evidence-based. You will be assigned a qualified assessor who will be available to answer questions and support the RPL process. You must be able to provide evidence of your skills and knowledge for an assessor to deem you ‘competent’. Enrolling as an RPL candidate doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be successful in your application for recognition.
This qualification provides a nationally recognised trade outcome in , covering work in residential and commercial applications.
MSF50218 Diploma of Interior Design
The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work.
This qualification is recognised by all state builder regulators including Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC), Fairtrading NSW, Victorian Building Authority (VBA), WA Building Commission, SA Consumer & Business Services.
Licensing Requirements
This qualification is recognised by building licence regulators in Australian States and Territories. For further information, check with the relevant regulatory authority in your area.
To work as a Builder or Contractor in Australia you must have a licence or be registered.
A licence or registration may require a combination of technical qualification, experience, skills and knowledge prior to application. One step in the process of gaining your licence or registration is to complete training which has been approved by the licensing body in your state.

Resources
Gap training requires access to a worksite and tools. Please check the student handbook for the list of resources required for each unit of competency. If you require access to a worksite, you will need to inform National Skills prior to enrolment so we can arrange access to a worksite for you.
