Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process used by National Skills to recognise the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through work and learning—whether in Australia or overseas. This may include paid employment, self-employment, life experience, and other activities such as volunteering.
If your assessment demonstrates competence in all the relevant units required (and where applicable, the qualification outcome) it can be issued as a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment.
Australian student fees are published on our website. International students, please refer to the FEES tab on the qualification page as this will apply.
Evidence can come in many forms. Depending on the unit, this may include:
Training standards and workplace regulations can vary between countries. Overseas applicants may need additional knowledge to meet Australian compliance requirements, such as:
To support overseas applicants, National Skills provides additional help to cover this. The RPL fee includes overseas enrolment and access to a short non-accredited online course designed to help you meet these Australian requirements.
After your initial RPL payment, your Trainer/Assessor will email you a password-protected link to access the course. You can complete this course while gathering and uploading your evidence for assessment.
A statement confirming completion of the course will be provided with your qualification once the final payment has been made.
