RPL can be conducted via online delivery and through workplace training.
If a student fails to demonstrate competency in some units required to gain the qualification, Gap Training is used to gain competency in those units. It can be customised to suit the individual client needs. Up to 4 units of gap training are included in your RPL Fee. Additional fees apply for further gap training units.
3 months enrolment period. After this time your file is placed in an archive and aditional fee of $250 applies to retrieve it. If no response after 12 months, it is deleted from our system.
Course
A Course is a process that can be completed in a longer time frame than RPL. It’s designed for those who have little or no previous experience in this field of qualification. The course will help train you to achieve the required skills and knowledge needed to gain this qualification.
Course training requires access to a workplace and tools. Please check the student handbook for the list of resources required for each unit of competency. If you require access to a workplace, you will need to inform National Skills prior to enrolment so we can arrange access to a workplace for you.
This Course can be conducted via online delivery and through workplace training.
Apprenticeships were traditionally seen as a path for younger people to enter a profession and learn on the job. However, today, apprenticeships and traineeships are increasingly attracting older individuals—those seeking to switch careers, upskill, or even re-enter the workforce after a break. This shift challenges the traditional notion that apprenticeships are solely for young people.
Now, the question arises: Should we disregard their previous experience simply because they're older? The answer is no. Previous experience, regardless of age, is valuable and should be considered as part of the learning journey. This is where the "two years" aspect comes into play. For older apprentices, the training can be adjusted to acknowledge their past knowledge and skills. The two years allows enough time to build on what they already know, while providing the necessary formal training and new knowledge that is specific to their chosen field.
If an older or younger apprentice does not meet the required knowledge or skills within the 2 years access given at the start of the course, they simply choose to extend their learning time, but it will come with additional costs. Refer to Fees tab below. This ensures that individuals can progress at their own pace and depth, depending on their goals and previous experience, without being held back or forced into a rigid timeline.
Ultimately, apprenticeships are no longer about age, but about opportunity and growth, making them an ideal option for people at all stages of their career.
