RPL

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process that can be completed in a short time frame. It's based on skills, knowledge and evidence you have already acquired over the years to meet the requirements for the qualification.

Evidence for RPL may include:

• Proven work experience
• Life experiences (including voluntary work and leisure pursuits)
• Previous study (Qualifications, industry training, professional development programs or units)
• References from qualified persons

RPL can be conducted via online delivery and through workplace training.

If a student fails to demonstrate competency in some units required to gain the qualification, Gap Training is used to gain competency in those units. It can be customised to suit the individual client needs. Please refer to the FEES tab for the number of Gap Training units included in your RPL fee (if needed) and any additional fees.

3 months enrolment period to complete RPL.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

UNITS OF COMPETENCY

Total number of units = Seventeen (17)

• Twelve (12) core units
• Five (5) elective units

• SITTTVL001 Access and interpret product information
• SITTTVL002 Provide advice on international destinations

• SITTTVL009 Construct international airfares
• SITXCCS014 Provide service to customers
• SITXCOM007 Show social and cultural sensitivity
• SITXWHS005 Participate in safe work practices

This qualification provides a nationally recognised outcome for persons seeking recognition as a Travel Agent who offer a range of travel sales, technical and operational skills to coordinate travel services.

Licensing Requirements:

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification.

What are the Pathways:

After successful attainment of this qualification, many Travel Agents go onto upgrading to other qualifications such as:

• SIT40122 Certificate IV in Travel and Tourism 

FEES

RPL - AUD $3500

• $1500 on enrolment and $2000 upon completion.
• Students have 3 months to provide their evidence.
• 2 Gap Training units are included at no extra charge (if required).
• Additional Gap Training units are available for $250 each.
• Students residing overseas incur an additional RPL fee of $1000.
