In Queensland, licensing is carried out by QBCC and the required Qualifications are carried out by National Skills Pty Ltd All construction contractors who operate on jobs in excess of $3,300 are required to hold a Contractor or Nominees licence,obtained through the Queensland Building and Construction Commission A licence or registration may require a combination of technical qualification, experience, skills and knowledge prior to by application. One step inthe process of gaining your licence or registration is to complete training which has been approved the licensing body in your state. To obtain a licence you must hold a trade qualification, and successfully complete the QBCC approved Business Management Course QBCC offers four types of licence to cover different roles and responsibilities in the building industry. You can choose the licence type that suits you. You must ensure that you only carry out building work covered by your licence type.
