RPL OR COURSE?

RPL

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process that can be completed in a short time frame. It's based on skills, knowledge and evidence you have already acquired over the years to meet the requirements for the qualification.

Evidence for RPL may include:

• Proven work experience
• Life experiences (including voluntary work and leisure pursuits)
• Previous study (Qualifications, industry training, professional development programs or units)
• References from qualified persons

RPL can be conducted via online delivery and through workplace training.

If a student fails to demonstrate competency in some units required to gain the qualification, Gap Training is used to gain competency in those units. It can be customised to suit the individual client needs. Up to 4 units of gap training are included in your RPL Fee. Additional fees apply for further gap training units.

3 months enrolment period to complete RPL.

Course

A Course is a process that can be completed in a longer time frame. It’s designed for those who have little or no previous experience in this field of qualification. The course will help train you to achieve the required skills and knowledge needed to gain this qualification.

Course training requires access to a workplace and tools. Please check the student handbook for the list of resources required for each unit of competency. If you require access to a workplace, you will need to inform National Skills prior to enrolment so we can arrange access to a workplace for you.

This Course can be conducted via online delivery and through workplace training.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

This qualification is for current swimming pool and spa service technicians. It will provide you with the competencies required to apply analytic and problem-solving skills to treat water quality problems, as well as install, service and repair the key systems and components of domestic, commercial and public swimming pools and spas.

• Swimming pool and spa service and repair technician

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates are required to hold either of these qualifications before enrolling:

• CPP31218 Certificate III in Swimming Pool and Spa Service; or
• CPP31212 Certificate III in Swimming Pool and Spa Service

UNITS OF COMPETENCY

Total number of units = Twenty (20)

• Eight (8) core units
• Twelve (12) elective units

CPP41319 Certificate IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service

This qualification is for current swimming pool and spa service technicians. They apply analytic and problem-solving skills to treat water quality problems, as well as install, service and repair the key systems and components of domestic, commercial and public swimming pools and spas.

Licensing Requirements:

To work as a Builder or Contractor in Australia you must have a licence or be registered.

A licence or registration may require a combination of technical qualification, experience, skills and knowledge prior to application. One step in the process of gaining your licence or registration is to complete training which has been approved by the licencing body in your State or Territory.

State and Territory jurisdictions may have different licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements. Relevant State and Territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.

What are the Pathways:

After successful attainment of this qualification, many Swimming Pool and Spa Technicians go onto upgrading to other licences and enrolling into qualifications such as:

• CPC40820 Certificate IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Building

FEES

RPL - $3900

• Enrolment fee $ and $ on completion
• Students have 3 months to provide their evidence.
• Includes 4 Gap Training units at no extra charge (if required).
• Additional Gap Training units are available for $ each.

Course - $4200

Full upfront payment gives you access to our online training platform and all course material needed to complete this qualification within 24 months. Further time extension can be requested at a cost of $180 per month.

Course Payment Plan - $4400

To make course payments more manageable, we offer a payment plan. This allows you to pay in instalments as you progress through the ? modules of the course over 24 months. Further time extension can be requested at a cost of $180 per month.

Here’s how it works:

1. Initial Payment: Start with an upfront payment of $1500 at the time of enrolment to secure your online training module to begin the course.
2. Subsequent Payments: The remaining balance will be divided into instalments, which are due at the start of each new module thereafter.
3. Total Balance: The price of the course payment plan is $4400 and will be paid in full by the time you reach the final module.

This structure allows you to pay as you learn and ensures you can continue progressing without requiring full payment upfront.
