RPL OR COURSE?

RPL

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process that can be completed in a short time frame. It's based on skills, knowledge and evidence you have already acquired over the years to meet the requirements for the qualification.

Evidence for RPL may include:

• Proven work experience
• Life experiences (including voluntary work and leisure pursuits)
• Previous study (Qualifications, industry training, professional development programs or units)
• References from qualified persons

RPL can be conducted via online delivery and through workplace training.

If a student fails to demonstrate competency in some units required to gain the qualification, Gap Training is used to gain competency in those units. It can be customised to suit the individual client needs. Up to 4 units of gap training are included in your RPL Fee. Additional fees apply for further gap training units.

3 months enrolment period to complete RPL.

Course

A Course is a process that can be completed in a longer time frame. It’s designed for those who have little or no previous experience in this field of qualification. The course will help train you to achieve the required skills and knowledge needed to gain this qualification.

Course training requires access to a workplace and tools. Please check the student handbook for the list of resources required for each unit of competency. If you require access to a workplace, you will need to inform National Skills prior to enrolment so we can arrange access to a workplace for you.

This Course can be conducted via online delivery and through workplace training.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

This qualification provides you with the required skills and knowledge applicable to primary trade occupations in the construction industry.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

UNITS OF COMPETENCY

Total number of units = Ten (10)

• Five (5) core units
• Five (5) elective units

Core Units of Competency

• CPCCOM1012 Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry
• CPCCOM1013 Plan and organise work
• CPCCOM1015 Carry out measurements and calculations
• CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
• CPCCVE1011 Undertake a basic construction project

Elective Units of Competency

• CPCCCA2002 Use carpentry tools and equipment
• CPCCPD2012 Use painting and decorating tools and equipment
• CPCCCM1011 Undertake basic estimation and costing
• CPCCCM2006 Apply basic levelling procedures
• CPCCCM2009 Carry out basic demolition

This qualification provides a nationally recognised outcome to the skills and knowledge gained for a pathway to primary trades in the construction industry.

What are the Pathways:

After successful attainment of this qualification, many go onto enrolling into qualifications such as:

• Many different Certificate III construction specific trades

FEES

RPL - $2400

• Enrolment fee $1000 and $1400 on completion
• Students have 3 months to provide their evidence.
• Includes 4 Gap Training units at no extra charge (if required).
• Additional Gap Training units are available for $250 each.

Course - $3200

Full upfront payment gives you access to our online training platform and all course material for 6 months. Further time extension can be requested at a cost of $180 per month.

Course Payment Plan - $3400

To make course payments more manageable, we offer a payment plan. This allows you to pay in instalments as you progress through the 6 modules of the course over 6 months. Further time extension can be requested at a cost of $180 per month.

Here’s how it works:

1. Initial Payment: Start with an upfront payment of $1000 at the time of enrolment to secure your online training module to begin the course.
2. Subsequent Payments: The remaining balance will be divided into instalments, which are due at the start of each new module thereafter.
3. Total Balance: The price of the course payment plan is $3400 and will be paid in full by the time you reach the final module.

This structure allows you to pay as you learn and ensures you can continue progressing without requiring full payment upfront.
